About

Pragya Kala Kendra, located in Eastern Part of Delhi (Dilshad Garden/Dilshad Extension/Ghaziabad), provides training in Indian dance forms like Rabindra Nritya, Kathak , Folk  as well as Bollywood and Contemporary dances including western forms like Zumba, Hip Hop, Ballroom and Salsa. Our institute also provides training in painting as well as creative writing. The institute is affiliated to Surnandan Bharati (ISO 9001:2015 Certified) Examination Board, Kolkata. Annual examination facility is very much available with proper certification system.

The instructor has excelled in all these forms with years of Training, practice and dedication and she provides high level training with same intensity of dedication and patience.

Dr. Pinki Purkayastha : 

The School "Pragya Kala Kendra"was established in 2016 by Dr. Pinki Purkayastha (Chandrani) which has now been  affiliated to Surnandan Bharati, an ISO-9001:2015 certified,  reputed govt. approved examination board in the field of art, culture anddance , based in Kolkata (http://surnandanbharati.com). She has been blessed to have gurus like Late Sri Basanta Singha, Nritya Guru Late Sri Mukundadas Bhattacharjee, Smt. Shilpi Paul Choudhury, Sri Debotosh Nath, Dr. Ranjana Sarkar, Guru Pali Chandra (Online classes) and Sri Satyajit Bose (Online Classes: Gaudiya Nritya) and is a performer since the age of 3. She has been been trained in dance forms like Rabindra Nritya, Kathak, Folk, Manipuri, Bollywood, HipHop, Salsa, Ballroom, with expertise in fitness dances like Zumba  and has been awarded with Sangeet Bivakar ( with Distinction) and Sangeet Ratna titles from Bangiya Sangeet Parishad, Kolkata. She is a trained painter and a creative writer too.  Being a devoted Ecologist (MSc., PhD in Ecology and Environmental Science) with a strong background in Anthropology ( University topper in Anthropology Hons.) she has been doing researches on man nature bonding and influence of local environment in shaping art and cultural practices of different communities. She has been doing intensive researches on Dance, Music and Art forms of Baiga's of Madhya Pradesh and Kaivartya Community of Barak Valley , Assam for years. Dr. Pinki  also runs a research network CREESS, as Deputy Director.
